Love Higham Survey – Have your say…..

Love Higham Survey – now underway

To help us identify your priorities and write the Village Plan it would be great if you could complete this 10 minute survey on line.

If you prefer, paper copies are available at the Library, the railway station, the surgery and the village greengrocer. Your completed survey can be returned at any of these places.

The survey will run from 26 August to 30 September 2017.

And ….. if you complete the survey you will be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.

In the meantime….

Some early actions already being planned or in progress are:

  • Litter picking sessions taking place in the village – with volunteers and helping to keep our village clean and tidy
  • Developing a planned approach to eradicate Dog Mess in the village
  • Successful bid for funding to purchase new Speedwatch equipment for Higham – this will provide valuable data about speeding vehicles so that we can focus sessions in the right places at the right times
  • Working in partnership with Gravesham Borough Council, to improve the shrub beds in the village
  • Shepherd Neame have completed refurbishment works on The Gardeners and the Parish Council have applied to list the pub as a Community Asset
  • Funding granted to purchase a Defibrillator for installation on the Recreation Ground

Summary statement…

From all the comments gathered at the Love Higham Day, it is obvious that you all would like a safe, healthy, clean and tidy village.

The rural environment is very important to you, as is the community spirit.

Most of you love living in the village and its sustainability is a key aim for the future.
